IPE Conference and Awards 2016

Welcome to the Capital Group Workshop 2016

The US – Still the World’s Bright Spot for Fixed Income Investors?

Thursday, 01 December 14:05 - 15:00

Throughout 2016, the opportunities in US investment grade credit have seemed very attractive for European investors starved of yield. However, a closer inspection revealed growing levels of leverage, and now, with a new president at the helm, the outlook is uncertain.

In the Capital Group Workshop 2016, rather than taking one segment in isolation, we will be taking a holistic look at opportunities across US fixed income including a more nuanced approach to investment grade credit but also areas which may offer diversification benefits such as municipal bonds and high yield.

Luke Farrell is a fixed income investment director at Capital Group and leads the fixed income investment team globally, specialising in core fixed income strategies,

He also leads the firm’s liability-driven investment and credit teams.

Farrell has 24 years of investment industry experience and has been with Capital Group for 11 years. Prior to this, he was a quantitative analyst, trader and credit portfolio manager with J.P. Morgan Asset Management.
